Components of Adapter Sleeves
Adapter sleeves: are used to mount bearings with tapered
bore onto a flat shaft (maximum tolerance H10), without the
need of a shoulder. The complete set comes with 3 parts: a
sleeve, a nut and a lock washer or MS locking device,
always supplied together.
Withdrawal sleeves: are used to mount bearings with tapered
bore onto a cylindrical seat of stepped shafts. The shaft must
be threaded, so the nut can push the sleeve against the
bearing and the shoulder. The nuts are not supplied with the
sleeves and must be ordered separately.
Lock nuts are accessories for the sleeves, but they also have
their own application where bearings need to be located onto
a shaft.
Lock washers are an accessory for sleeves but they also have
their own application. Their main purpose is to lock the KM
and KML nuts preventing them from being released from the
sleeve or the shaft itself.
